2010 and android phone book entries

I think I've posted this before, but I can't find my original post on this.
Hoping to see if more people have seen this.
I've noticed this with both my Nexus One and my Nexus S with my 2010 with nav. It's been doing it as long as I can remember with both Froyo and Gingerbread versions.

When I initially pair the phone with the car and access the handset phone book entries show up as
Lastname Firstname

If I select the entry, I then get [Mobile] [Main] [Home] etc etc sub entries.

At some point, it automatically changes to multiple
Firstname Lastname
entries. One separate entry for each phone number I have for that name.

The problem with this is, the names show up, but there's no idea what phone number I'd be dialing since it doesn't also show the phone number.

The dialing screen doesn't show the phone number either. It just shows the name.

I can live with the lastname first thing if it's the only way to keep the sub-entries for each number. But the multiple top level entries for each phone number is absolutely annoying and makes the thing pretty much useless.

Anyone else experience this? Only solution I've found is to un-pair and re-pair the device until it occurs again.

Go to your UserCP, click on the statistics tab and then on "find all threads started by dopey" it should be right under the thread that you just created

That's not the right post. That one is about a completely different question.

There's the one I was looking for.

Either way, I'm hoping someone else has experienced it. I can't imagine I'm the only one seeing this weird behavior unless it's specific to the Nexus phones and I'm the only one here with one
