Audio setup questions
Hey y'all, so I've recently been looking into upgrading my stock Bose system in a g37 coupe. I'm pretty much new to the audio scene so I still have a lot to learn. Recently I've found a deal for a JL 12w6v2 for $200, almost new used for about 1 week, and also comes with everything in the box. My concern is that I'm not so sure how I'm going to check if the sub is blown or not, unless it's hook up to a system. What do y'all think? If I do decide to go ahead with this, which amp should I be getting? I mainly listen to all kind of music and would like sound quality > loudness. People that I've talked to been recommending me to get either a jl hd750 or anything 500/1 and above. Anyway, any suggestion is highly appreciated.
Ps: a friend of a friend recently offer me an escort 9500ix for $300 like new with box. Should I give it a go?

Can't help you with testing a sub out. I had a 10" alpine type R sub in my camaro. Ended up selling that for about 3/4 what I paid for it. I didn't abuse it. In fact, I like some bass fill, but didn't like my music too boomy. Coming from the 2 wheel world with loud exhaust and even louder helmets, protecting the hearing is very important.
$300 for a 9500ix is a good deal. They go for $500 typically. Ended up getting one after getting popped twice in a month on the bike.
