iPod Owners

I got my iPod back in 2006. It's a 60 GB version.

Anyway, occasionally it locks up on me and won't do a damn thing until the battery drains down completely and I recharge it.

It's locked now. Happened at 11:02 am. I can tell because the backlight is locked "on" and the time is also locked in. Can't scroll, can't turn it off... nothing.

This happen to anyone else?

iPod Classic or prior? Try holding the Select button (center of the clickwheel) and the Menu button at the same time for ~10 seconds.

If that's not the correct model, try this: How to reset and iPod

I'm pretty sure it's the classic, with the scroll wheel. Anyway... once again, I let the battery drain completely and just plugged it in to charge it and it's working fine again.

When it happens again, I'll try the reset you posted.

No worries -- Hope that fixes it for you. My 80gb Classic likes to lock up on occasion, usually just after being Sync'd to iTunes and disconnected -- Menu + Select works like a charm. Let me know how things work out for you next time it happens.
