Cell Phone applications and automobile links

Have any of yo tried the smart start technoogy which unlocks locks and starts car from the cell phone?

Is it really safe? is this investment something you would go for?

Yes I have. I like it. I have it on my EVO and 2010 G37sedan. Can locate your car on GPS as well, forward your car alarm to your phone. Supposedly you can turn it off remotely if you are jacked. It sends me a text whenever the engine turns on or off. Bad part is that if you are in a parking garage the signal never works reliably.

The Viper Smartstart. It's an add-on to the viper remote start systems. I have one with my viper 5901 and it works great. It's true that it doesn't work in below ground parking garages where there is no cell phone service, but I haven't had any issues using it anywhere else. I've even started to leave my regular viper remote at home. Now I just carry my car key and my iPhone and I'm good to go.
