Navigation - Set Default State? ?

Hi, new G37 owner. Former Lexus owner.

Is there a way to program in the default state when using voice activated address searches.

For example: I live in California- i'd like to set the default state as , you guessed it, California.

This was possible in my previous vehicle. It appears I need to go through like 6 voice prompts just to get to "calculate route"

Also- often times when I say a city or street, it will give me a list of 6 and I have to pick (more often 1 being the correct choice)

And yes, inb4 english is my first language ( so that isnt the problem )

Thanks!

You haven’t mentioned what year G you have, but for my early '08 I can enter ”Destination (Street Address) Last State,” and assuming you’ve used a California address before, it should return a California address without having to make separate request for the state. I’ve also just entered “Destination (Street Address)” and it usually returns a city in California without asking for the state.

Chekov, is your G one of the early 2008's before the cut the voice command features in half? Ie. can you tell your climate control what temperature to go to? I wish they wouldn't have dumbed the car down and just kept the long list of commands....

Yes, I have an early ’08, built in July 2007 with all those extra voice commands you mentioned, including many radio/audio commands . And I just discovered I can even select the temperature separately for driver and passenger side via voice commands. I agree it's a shame they took those extra commands away, for reasons I still don't understand.

Of course, my wife’s IS250 does one better. If you put in “I’m hungry” it will return all the nearby restaurant icons on the nav screen.
