Hard wire a V1?
Anyone hardwired a G37 Coupe to mount a Valentine 1 up near the rear view mirror? Where did you tap power and where did you run the wire?

I just want to know where to pickup power under the dash, hide the wire going up the "A" pillar and will use the supplied suction cup mount. Did this with my Acura CL-S, but the cocer on the "A" pillar was very easy to remove and hide the wire behind. Not sure about how to remove the cover on the G.

1) mirror mount so the detector can be directly mounted on the mirror and not use suction cups. I used blendmount (lol i think there's an ad for it in this thread!)
2) stealthcord. Plugs into backside of mirror to power the detector so you dont have to put it into the cigarette lighter. I used stealthcord, there's also invisicord and also blendmount sells one. Personally I liked stelthcord it was good quality and even though mine broke after a few months they sent me a new one (I recommend reinforcing the part where the cord splits into the leads with electrical tape so it doesn't flex there)

Thanx for the info. I think I will go with the Stealthcord and the stock suction cups. Under mirror mount blocks to much view for my liking. I like it mounted at the top of the windshield, even though you cannot use the sun visor.

I have mine hardwired into the fusebox by the driver's pedals. I just bought an adapter thingy and tapped into the cig lighter fuse. Just run it underneath the plastic trim pieces and up the pillar and you're good to go. Took 10 mins.

I bought an adapter at the auto parts store that you plug into a fuse in the fuse box. It has 2 spots for fuses. The first one is for the fuse you pulled. The second one is for the wire that comes off the adapter so you can wire something up. It works great and its cheap and easy.

Do a google search on Blendmount and purchase their mount and the stealthcord. It's a little pricey (we drive luxury cars), but the quality is excellent and the mounted V1 looks "factory". I can't recommend this product highly enough!

Got the 8" Stealthcord today; works great with the stock V1 suction cups. V1 i only used on road trips, so this is the perfect solution. Thanx for the link.
