I have just purchased a2011 G37 Convertible and my question is about the XM weather alerts .It will tell you that a storm is 10 miles away,but how do you know which direction it is in in relation to your directon of travel.

just go to info, weather maps, then watches and warnings map. It will have the affected areas highlighted.

Does anyone know you if you can have the alert make a tone in addition to the message on the screen? If I don't happen to be looking at it when it appears I could miss it

Good question. That would be a nice feature, but I don't think it is capable of sounding an alert like that.

the system speaks and tells you there is a storm nearby....is that what you're referring to?

there is a weather map you can look at, and see where the storm is in relation to your location
