I got the "S" so there was no opting out of the Navi. I like it but it has struggled to find some streets that were many years old.
Agreed. Not sure why it can't find a 5 year old neighborhood when a 3 year old Garmin can. Next time I am at the dealer, I will ask them to ensure my Nav maps are up to date. No excuse for a 2011 car not to recognize neighborhoods that are at least 5 years old.
My smartphone's GPS lock is terrible and it often loses the lock while driving. I guess that's why I like my nav...and also there's no wire dangling/clutter that comes with the handheld GPS.
Try not being from Cali and driving to and through Los Angeles with no navi!! Let's see how that turn out!!
No doubt. The navi helps a lot for me but I wish there was more notification for the traffic info to help avoid some situations before you get stuck in them.

Pandora in the car is the best feature possible. Love that ability.
Though its a nuisance to have to scroll up to get the nearest location when doing a search, I still love my nav. I was driving a 2011 escalade(rental) and the nav in that truck sucks a** compared to the nav in the G, and thats a 70'000 vehicle. Just trying to enter an address into the Escalade was a P.I.T.A.. I ended up using the nav unit that was provided by hertz because the Escalade couldnt find the address. And the screen resolution sucks as well. The G's nav system has it quirks but I don't regret getting it. The Bluetooth streaming is a plus as well.
I understand your point, but IMO it seems tiresome to continue to post the same subjects over and over again. If it’s not the nav issue it’s some of our other regulars, like regular versus premium fuel, auto versus manual tranny or coupe versus sedan. But (sigh) I guess as many members want to get their latest opinion in on these subjects there’s not much that can be done.
How many subjects can there be?
Also, new members like to get their digs in.
And some of us have short memories.

By the way, which is better: Auto in coupe or manual in sedan, with or without premium?
