Is it possible to get the video to play while not in park?

Go to bestbuy and get the cable that has ipod/ipad connection along with usb split as well as audio video component output. Ill take pics of it when I get home from vacation in about a couple of days. I paid 60 for it but you gotta some one with knowledge because the apple guy did not even know they had such a thing!

I'm not to sure about playing it with the e brake down but im sure some one knows how to delete the whole parking brake switch thing. I've heard of it being done in other cars not to sure about the g's though.

most of the video apps like youtube, hulu, netflix will automatically play on the screen but if you want to view your screen right when you connect it you are going to have to jailbreak your ipad and download "displayout" through Cydia. as far the ebrake delete, its floating somewhere in youtube but it is EXTREMLY UNSAFE and ILLEGAL (at least in california i know it is)

So it will play youtube videos but what about movies saved on your ipad/iphone?

yes, it will play videos and music as well as charge your iphone. you will need to buy a car charger adaptor like one below though.

I believe its against the rules to talk about. That lockout is a mandatory safety feature you're not legally allowed to bypass. Same goes for the nav lockout while not in park.
