Hate stock Bose system? Post your options!

i think the best option will be going with a decent sub with a decent amp preferably the JL's with the custom 4080 box! 4080 dont make the boxes no more but nick from science of sound still makes the boxes! btw i have a brand new JL 10w6v2 for sale if your interested!

Thanks for the post. I agree a decent sub and amp combo would be the best minimum upgrade option. Those wanting a full custom audio upgrade have different sound quality desires.

Here is the most incredible setup I've seen for a G37. Beautiful work. This should make you happy. It's from a sister forum:

@shadrach06:
I had an almost identical system installed in my old Integra a while back, and IT ROCKS! The only thing I would do different would be to use different (cheaper) sound dampening materials, because that dynamat is WAAAYYY over priced. $4500 installed would probably be a fair price.

there is one issue I have had though when I play loud music for a long time going from aux or cd to radio there is a high spike sometimes and I immediately lower the volume anyone else has had this problem?

I did mine in 2 steps. First I replaced the Bose amp with a Hertz HDP 5 amp (5 channel) and ran a single Hertz 10" dual voice coil sub. The difference was night and day. The stock speakers actually sound pretty good when you have a good amp driving them. The factory speakers are 1 ohm and my amp only goes down to 2 ohms, so they were wired in series. It was still a bit muddy for me so I replaced those with Focal KRX2 components for the front and Focal PC 690s for rear fill in the rear deck, all running at 2 ohms. Dynamat extreme for deadening in the doors and trunk. JL Audio Cleansweep DSP to clean up the signal from the factory head unit. Sounds amazing

Rockford Power T500-1bd Subwoofer Amp
2 Rockford T1 10" subs
2 Rockford Power T400-2bd Front and Rear amps
2 Infinity Kappa 6" X 9" component speakers (Rear package shelf)
Tweeters from above in front door panels
Rockford ribbon tweeters (NOS from the 80's) in the front door sails
0/Ga power wire from battery
4/Ga power wire from fuse block to each amp
PAC TR7 delay turn on module
Im still deciding on the replacement door woofers and the rear seat mids. Center channel is disconnected.
