I'm assuming you meant the latter as the last time I test drove a 335i, the base system was 'lifeless' and hard to hear.

symphonic/goth metal? Interested. What are some bands I can sample?

I need some new treadmill music as I am growing tired of Thousand Foot Krutch, Five Finger Death Punch, Avenged Sevenfold, etc.

Start with Nightwish. Really good stuff.

I like it. Evanescence meets Pantera. Excellent vocals followed by thundering guitars. excellent recommendation.

Adding them to Pandora now. Need to delete a couple of my others as I am already at the channel limit (100) for the free account.

I am considering a two pronged approach. Replace the second(bass) Bose amp thus increasing the power and output range of the oem 6x9s, possibly upgrading these 6x9s as well
And adding a sub woofer for more low end punch.

May mean two new amps or at least one multi channel.

Can someone confirm that the rear side panel 3.5s are powered by the first Bose amp as the front doors are?

The Bose system really stinks. Period...

Unfortunately, if you want the premium package options, it's bundled in.

Let's put it this way. My old Ford Fusion with the base stereo has a tighter low end and overall better imaging that the Bose in the G.

First, the sound imaging is terrible and blurry.
I think a lot of it has to do with the center speaker in the dash top. There is an over abundance of midrange and the sound isn't focused. Somewhat like and out of phase sound.

The bass adjustment seems like its an octave too high. So rather than sounding tight, it just makes everything sound more "muddy". It's never tight sounding.

The sub sounds really weak. Output is too minimal to keep up with the rest of the speakers.

The Bose in my old maxima was equally pitiful.

Even with the "sound staging" activated, it's still awful.

There is this overpowering midrange from the front center speaker. Does anybody know if the level can be adjusted at the amp for this speaker, or of there is a simple way to simply disconnect that center speaker? For example; does each speaker have its own connection at the amp, or is it all on one common harness connection for all speakers?

Wow, you must have bad ears! My BOSE system in my 2013 IPL after the burn in period it sounds very nice! I can turn it all the way up listening to AAC,FLAC and MP3 files just fine!

The base is tight and the sound is clean! maybe you have a bad amp or you did not burn in your speakers the correct way you when first got your car!

Dude the Bose in my car is amazing for stock speakers. It bangs like I have 10inch subs. The bass is good enough to where I don't need to buy JL subs.

I agree, the Bose system is awesome IMO. It is extremely crisp and the bass hits much harder than I had expected. I have my sub and amp from my old car just sitting in my room, not even going to waste my time putting it in.

Coming from the Logic 7 system in my 330i (stock subs under front driver & passenger seats) i've been pretty impressed with the clarity of the Bose system in my 2013 G.

That being said, I'm in the process of adding a 10w6v3 paired with a 500/1 to fill the void. I think it will really balance the Bose.
