i don't care about booming bass, but I do about clarity and this system (and the one in my mother g35) isn't good. It's OK, better than some factory systems, but I'd rate it strictly average at best.
actually i wear professional headphones and custom made ear plugs to every event that i'm not djing at...so i'm sure my hearing is just as fine if not better then yours

I am a musician, so I think I have a pretty good ear. I had an 11 speaker Bose system in my 2004 Audi A6, and that one was substantially better than the one in my G37. On the other hand, our Bose is better than most stock systems. My fav is B&O in Audi A8L....

I have a Jaguar XF with the Bowers & Wilkins stereo; it is a fabulous system and was designed for the car.

The Bose system in my 2011 G 37 coupe is of equal quality for this car. I was very surprised. I am not a audiophile, nor do I have a "tin ear" but as MYC Maxima said, "its good enough for me".

Yep, It's a perfectly good sound system. The only problem is the bass which is kind of low.

It has been proven many times when you hide the system being listened to a very cheap system will be rated higher then a very expensive system if the volume is just slightly higher. The higher the volume the more you hear. The Bose system is very clear at high volumes. However, it's not to my "taste". Sound is very subjective and each system has a different "flavor". Some people really like the Bass from a boomy subwoofer. I had a system with one and finally turned it off as it was annoying. The RockFord Fosgate OEM system I had in a Nissan truck was mostly a name plate engineering thing and did not sound anywhere near as good as the same name I had put in a previous car. So not only do the car systems have to be light weight, they also very greatly in quality based upon how much the manufacturer is willing to pay.

Interestingly, the Bose system in the Maxima is actually a Bose-tuned Clarion unit. Those on the Altima's were made by Panasonic.

I doubt Bose actually makes the units on any of their marked mobile systems. I believe they merely tune and recommend specifications.
