Navigation voice over stereo?

the car automatically lowers (not mutes) the audio when the navigation speaks
as the navigation is speaking, you can turn the volume **** to raise or lower the navigation volume.
i dont remember 100% but I believe you can adjust the volume in the settings of how low you want the radio to go when the navigation speaks

I gotta say the nav system in my prius is a lot better, it mutes the music when it needs to say something so you never miss directions.
This is in my opinion a major flaw and not something I'd expect in this class of vehicle. I'm planning to send it back into service and ask them to fix it. Maybe they can adjust the muting via some service settings

I'e got a 2009 G37xS also and the nav system lowering the volume works great, and the navs voice volume is adjustable through the settings mode as was mentioned in an earlier reply.

So it must be another "feature" they added to the 2010-2011 models. The audio barely mutes at all. When the music is louder, it just sounds like the audio slightly dips and I can't hear the instructions at all.

I also have a 2011. The front speakers lower, the rears do not. But, I have no problem whatsoever. If you adjust the NAV volume accordingly, it is more then efficient to hear. As someone previously said, as soon as she starts speaking, you can turn the volume up and it will adjust her voice. When all the way up, it is more then loud enough.

When I first had my 2010 G I had a hard time understanding the NAV instructions over the radio. Then I found out I could go into the NAV settings and raise the NAV audio independently of the regular audio. No problems since I adjusted the NAV audio.
