Lost FOB
Lost one of my FOB's dealer quoted $265 for the FOB, $100 to program and I imagine recut key. Fortunately I found a FOB online at http://www.autotransponder.com/2008_...elligent_key_1 for get this $38. Talk about mark up, that's bloody rediculous. At least with the G35 <2006 you can program them yourself, now it apparently requires Consult 3. May give Nissan a call and see if they can do it... anyone want to bet it would be less then $100.

Yeah, you can get a brand new uncut FOB all over the internet for no more than 100. Just goes to show you should shop around...
Keep us posted on if Nissan can do it, and the price
BTW, in the instance of losing it, is it possible to get the car reprogrammed so that the one you lost is no longer able to get in/start the car?

Ok so here's the cost comparison.
Infiniti Reprogram - $100 + free coke + smile from cute cashier.
Nissan Reprogram - $50 + No free coke + cashier is not cute at all.
The deal here is clear...

Not a bad idea but honestly Nissan's got more cars I'd be interested in looking at while I wait... don't really need the smile or the coke.

So after waiting a day due to the system outage that prevented FOB programming at two different Nissan's I went back today to get'er done.
Come to find out that if you have a tune via at least Cobb AP and most likely Uprev as well you need to uninstall it or they won't be able to program your keys. The Consult III would not recognize my ECU. Fortunately I had my AccessPort in the car so I uninstalled it, they programmed the key's and I re-installed the tune. They did knock off $10 for the extra wait, which they really didn't need to, hardly their problem I was on a modified ECU configuration. I told them I'll add that to the GTR fund now that they raised the sucker to $98K... bastards!
Amazingly totally not fun process though to get a new key.
