I'm interested in which modules were used to retain the proximity button on door handles to disarm the viper. That's sick bro!

pretty stupid considering the function it's performing. the installs really not that intrusive. i'd love to have it but hated waking up to a car that needed to be jumped
It was done at Fields Infiniti in Glencoe (Chicago). Flawless operation, I didn't have the alarm portion done, just left the favtory one active.

i wouldn't recommend it to people who live in really cold regions as you have voltage drops in the cold to begin with and with this system the voltage drops could cause the inability to start.

also the push to start doesnt affect the install. you just need a different module and more wires. it's just that most installers dont want to do all that work bc they're unfamiliar with it.

note: this system will void your electrical component warranty on the vehicle

Wow... i've had mine installed since septmeber 2010 and no battery issues as of yet. Maybe you had a faulty install. I called infiniti before i got mine installed and was told by consumer affairs " We don't recommend the installation of aftermarket alarms but having one installed does not void your warranty unless the aftermarket equipment was found to cause the problem." I would think it would automatically void your warranty on the intelligent key system though. Sucks you had such a bad experience with the alarm.

yea it was a real bummer. basically had to go back and forth to my installer for about a month until they blamed the battery and even had infiniti replace my battery under the TSB.. still had issues.

when i was at the infiniti dealership by my house the guy working the service desk basically said you know you voided your electrical portion of your warranty and we won't service your car for electrical issues now.

i guess the lesson learned is - every dealership will tell you something different and whether or not you view installing the system as a risk there are people who have good and bad experiences with it.

if i could go back i would have just forgone getting it done.

In case anyone is interested, the bypass module to get is xpresskit's dball. This will allow you to use the OEM remote as well as the door buttons to activate the Viper alarm. I just finished my install today.

Well, you actually also need the interface to program the module. The Dball module comes with a default firmware. You have to flash it to the Nissan firmware. Depending on whether your installer has this, you might have to get it.

The firmware is available online. But you need an USB to D2D interface module in order to copy the firmware to the DB-all. http://www.amazon.com/Directed-Elect...8953462&sr=8-5

If your installer is familiar with DBall, then he should already have this. If not, then you might have to flash the firmware for him.
