HID Reflection Setting Off Laser Detector
#16
Its funny but, I have never even messed with the headlights since they were already set to auto on when I bought the car. I am so used to having the auto on in my Trailblazer and now my G that I forget to turn the lights on all the time when I drive my wife's Odyssey!

I don't have the Escort but am running the Valentine mounted just above the rear view mirror with a suction cup mount. The lights don't seem to have any effect but the Navigation display certainly does, especially at night. It was so bad that I put the detector in the glove box and don't even use it anymore...

Has anyone found a solution for this? I just got a 9500ix and currently have it on the windshield, but want to get a blendmount to get rid of the cord. I tried placing the detector under the mirror to see what it would be like and my Laser kept going off like crazy. I didn't know why and didn't spend much time investigating, but it seems like the theory about the display presented here could be the cause and that would seriously suck. i don't think it's the head lights but I am going down in a few minutes to confirm.

Call Escort and tell them you have interference from navigation screen that sets off the laser on the detector. Ask them to install the shield and adjust the sensitivity. They basically developed a fix for this problem. You just need to send it in for service.
I got this problem fixed about a year ago and never had a false alarm since then.
