Did the 09 G37 Bose system get less powerful the 08 G35's?

I just went from a 08 G35 sedan with Bose to a 09 G37S sedan with Bose and I feel like the system got much weaker. The bass I was getting out of my factory Bose system in my 08 was noticeably more powerful then what I'm getting from my 09, and this is with the bass turned up all the way where in my 08 I was have it a few notches under full power. I tested it with iPod in and with aux and in both cases I hear a noticeable drop in bass.

Is there something wrong with my system or did they in fact change?

My first Nissan was a 96 Maxima -- the Bose system in that car was fantastic.

Then I bought an 00 Maxima and the Bose system was not as good as the 96.

Then I bought an 04 Maxima and the Bose system was not as good as the 00.

Then I bought an 05 G coupe and the Bose system was not as good as the 04 Maxima.

Now I have an 09 sedan and the Bose system is better than the 05 coupe, but still not as good as the one in my 96 Maxima.

Do '09's still have AGC (Automatic Gain Control) a.k.a speed-dependent volume control?

On my '07 i notice that if i have that turned all the way up, normal audio levels seem a bit toned down, but with it off the frequencies open up.
