I have a 160G iPod Classic (Costco ~$200.00) It works flawlessly in my '09 sedan. No Scosche. I just leave it in the car, keep the phone in my pocket.

I understand you have the 160gb from Coscto. Do you have any one of those cables from the link I have provided? Do any one of them work? Thanks!

No. I just use the factory cable... The links in you post go to a default page. If you don't have the factory cable, they are on eBay sometimes or maybe someone in the forum has one for sale.

Sorry. When I first got the car, I played a video file, can't remember what cable I used. I think there is a sticky on playing videos on the nav somewhere in this forum.

So let me get this straight, the OEM cable can only play IPOD's classic and charge it the same time. It can play iphone's but not charge it. Also, the OEM cable doesn't plug into the AV, it plugs into the one next to it in the center console?

Ahh... I'm an old guy that just upgraded from a crank cell phone...

But, I think the answer is yes. IMHO, the factory cable does not support video. The RCA jacks in the console do. But, the RCA's do not control or charge the iPod, that is done via the factory cable...

Charging works on any "Apple product" that will charge off of "firewire", some iPods do some don't. Some charge on either USB or Firewire. If you have an "Apple Product" that charges off of USB only, then you need an adaptor that fits between the factory cable and the "Apple device" to convert the charge to USB from firewire. (Schosche etc.)

Not sure I'm right on all of this... Best advice is to search the forum there are several posts on this subject, most likely by members that are more knowelegable on the subject.
