Navigation Question

I have a 2010 sedan with nav and even though i set voice tags for certain locations when i ask the system to go to that location it always defaults to home. I can say" Destination Work" and the system will repeat "Destination Home". Does anyone else have this issue or can anyone offer any suggestions to remedy the problem?

Unless something drastic changed in the 2010's you can't say say "destination work" you have to say "address book" then select which you want.

Read the navi manual and look under address book and voice tags, I'm positive Infiniti wrote out instructions on how to solve this mystery

First off did you go through the list of commands in the IVR (Infiniti Voice Recognition)?

Try this... Go to Settings... Navigation> Address Book> Stored Locations> Select Work or the Work address> Edit> Change the name of the Stored location to Work and also go to Voice Tag> say the word "Work" and then Store. Once, the word is stored try using the Destination Work if Destination Home responds, try just saying Work. This should hopefully fix it so the Nav goes to your Work location.

I Tried this and its still defaults to my home location. I set up voice tags for all stored locations but none work.

Ok ill try this and see if this works, but I can press the Voice recognition button and say" Destination Home" and it works. It may only work for the home location. I may only be able to use the voice tags for the other stored locations after accessing the address book. Thanks for your input.

Unfortunately, our 2010 models have crappy voice command system. They took all the good stuff out of our 2010 models. In previous models, the system was able to change the climate etc etc.. Now we cant even do that. We simply have to go thru all the commands to set a destination.

On the 08 there is also some sort of setting or adjustment where you input some voice data to get the car to better "recognize" your individual speech. Like initializing the system to recognize how you talk. I'm not explaining it well, but have you done that? It's been 3 years since I did this so I don't know if that's still the way the newer models work. I don't remember where it is in the menu either.

Yeah I believe its called speaker adaptation or something along those lines and yes I have done it. I figured it out. I just have to say address book first for all locations except my home location.

How do you get traffic alerts? I get weather alerts but have not been able to get traffic alerts. I check the Information setting and scroll down to the screen and it lists the traffic congestion in immediate area. If a set a route on the Navi - I don't get traffic alerts and suggested re-routing like a GARMIN units does??
