Amp Killswitch?

Hey guys!

Do you guys have an amp killswitch installed? If so, where did you put it? Anyone know how to go about doing this? I currently have a 12" Kicker CVR installed with a Kicker ZX400.1 amp, but at times I want to shut off the amp/sub on long drives. So I was thinking about installing or getting installed an amp kill switch. Anyone have any info on this on what needs to be done?

Thanks in advance!<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Maybe I should have done that. LOL

Where would you guys recommend to install the switch/****? Any pics of this would be great as well. I want it to be pretty available to me while sitting in the drivers seat, but not sticking out that everyone is asking what its for...

any suggestions?

How did you wire the amp? I spliced into the rear speaker inputs on mine, so if I want the sub off I just turn the fade all the way to the front

I had my amp/sub installed at a local car audio shop, so unfortunately I am not really sure how they installed it. I am a noob when it comes to car audio...

I will def try the fade idea when I get in the car. Thanks!

Just splice a switch into the amp remote-on wire. Mount anywhere.

Personally, I have an RBC-1 mounted in the blank slot next to the VDC button.

if you had it installed at a audio shop ask them where your bass control **** is. It is included with the amp you purchased. They probably did not wire it though. Go back and tell them you want them to install it or at least give you the **** so you can do so yourself.

I would suggest a control ****, if your amp did not come with one, u can use the PAC LC-1 in line with your RCAs.. I listen to all types of music and it works great when I go from rap to rock I can trun down my base.. I installed mine in my ash tray but some do it in an empty switch panel next to the trunk release or VDC button (mine are both taken lol) Here is what mine looks like..

Here's a pic of mine... It's glued to the back of the cigarette lighter. Twist the lighter and it adjusts the level.

Thats awesome! What for your navi/ dvd switches, did you tap into the RGB wires at the back of the screen and they switch back and forth between inputs? and OMG twisting the lighter for base control.. genius!!!! Im doing that this weekend haha

Jus like spaded I had my sub connected 23-26 which are rear inputs so I can jus fade the speakers to front and no more signal to the sub. Best way IMO

The Navi and DVD switches are for that which we do not talk about... being able to use grayed out options.
