Escort Passport SR7

Has anyone here installed one on their G or know of anyone that has one? Do they work pretty well, hows the install, where'd you/they mount the receivers, etc??

I might be getting one soon and was curious.

Thanks

Hey,

I don't personally have this on my G but I helped a friend install it on his Bentley and it's pretty damn good however it's really just for the hidden look. Personally, I've been using the new 9500 and just ran the cord behind the steering column and in to the cig lighter. The units sits on my top left corner dash area there and seems to work just as good as having it mounted in the middle of the dash. No wires everywhere and it sits really nice up there.

My friend actually got rid of the SR7 and installed this instead: https://www.escortradar.com/store/la...ifter-zr4.html - He then bought a passport 8500 X50 blue off ebay for like $200 and plugged it in to that unit. So for the same/cheaper price than the SR7... hes got kick-*** across the board detection AND laser jamming.

9500ix was my first preference then I saw this and thought I'd look into it. The one I'm looking at has the ZR3 laser shifters but my only concern is that it may be outdated in terms of detection (from like 2006). If I can pick this up for cheap enough I'll probably do it but otherwise I'll end up with the 9500ix.

How much "advancement" has there been in laser detection technology is the past few years, anyone know?

The wiring of a 9500ix isn't really a concern for me and this thing has a module that gets hardwired. I'm just wondering if the price is right, would this be a suitable alternative to the 9500ix
