Valentine 1 mount and power

Valentine 1 mount and power
I checked the valentine 1 thread, but still didn't get any clear information about what I should do. I had my V1 hard wired in the Cobra, but for now I have the detector on suction cups and cable wrapped over to the right and down to the cigarette lighter. It looks like there are options for mounts and power to put it right under the mirror.
#1 Can I run power from the mirror (it looks like it, but I want to make sure it is switched)
#2 Where can I buy "it"* for the best price?
* I saw there were a few different people making them, what is the best?

1.) yes you can draw power from the mirror. the g37's mirror has power run to it for auto dimming, garage linking, and the compass.
2.) stealthcords is what its called. google 'stealthcords' and it will come up. they arent very expensive. BUT if you want to save money you CAN make it yourself. Its very very simple. the V1 has a telephone cord power cord i believe. take any telephone wire you may have and strip one end. pop out the wiring harness on the back of your g37's mirror. there's a thread on here to do this, just use the search and search for stealth cords. basically you have to run the power part of the stripped telephone wire into the wiring harness and the same for the ground and its all done. its that simple.

Thanks, that's what I'm aiming for. I can handle the power side with the RJ-11 cable. I'm seeing these cool looking mounts for the rear view. Worth it or just stick with the suction cups?

right now i have it on suction cups...but the power supply is running thru the ceiling and down right driver side panel (i think). no wires and both cig lighters available. considered the rear view mount but the detector is VERY visible that way, the placement now is slightly to the left of the rear view mirror and pretty much at the tint strip...makes it much more difficult to see the RD...
just pointing this is out if theft is of concern to you...im sure you'd want to protect your 400 investment

Blendmount.com - Innovative Mounting Solutions - Radar Detector Mounts makes a mount for the V1 to attach to the mirror. i personally just have suction cups and haven't had any issue. some people like the cleaner look of the mount and go with it. both function the same imo.

I use a stealth cord and suction cups to hold it on the windshield. Over the years, on other cars, the suction cups lose grip and the radar detector falls off the windshield, especially on hot days.
I was concerned that the detector might dent some trim in the car, if and when it fell off, so I ordered the 12" long stealth cord. This way i had enough cord to connect to the mirror and wrap it once around the mirror mount, before attaching it to the windshield.
I've had my detector fall off a few times since then, but all it does is hang by the cord.

How are you guys connecting the concealed display when using the Stealthcord? Can you use a 1 into 2 phone cord splitter? I was planning on just hardwiring to the fuse box on the drivers side footwell.
