Newest iPod Nano--compatibility?

I have a 2009 G37X coupe. With the very limited space in the console, I decided to spring for the newest (6th Gen?) iPod Nano, which is about 1.5 square and thin and frees up a little space for something else.

I was pleased to see that unlike the 5th Gen Nano, this unit does charge without an adapter. However, it doesn't turn on and off when the iPod option is selected or deselected through the G37 interface. You have to manually turn it on.

Has anyone else tried this one yet? Let me know if I'm missing a setting on the iPod itself that might make it fully compatible with the G37 interface.

I take it back. It doesn't charge without the adapter after all. But other than not charging and not turning on through the car's interface, it's perfect.
