Open door and the window rolls down all the way??

Hey guys, just got my G37 back from the body shop after putting a kit on it. When i got to work i rolled up the windows like usual and turned the car off. When I opened the drivers side door to get out, the window goes down all the way. I had to get in my passanger side and roll it up then power the car off. When the door is shut I can roll the window up but anytime I open the door the window goes back down all the way and when I try to roll it up with the door open nothing happens. I tried the window reset with no joy and tried searching for someone else with the problem but no luck there either.

The body shop advised the battery was dead when they started it since it was there for a week sitting before they began the work so they had to jump it (maybe they were listening to music from the car while they worked and killed it? who knows??)

Any help would be great its about to pour down rain out here in MD!

I have never seen that problem before. Sounds like the wiring for the door open/closed switch is somehow shorted to the wiring for the window. Your probably going to have to get it to the dealer to get it fixed right.

i dont know if you got the problem fixed, but when i bought my G from the dealer they had to change the door speaker cover since it was broken, so in order to do that they had to take off the door panel. when i got my car back everytime someone would open the passenger side door to get out whether the car was off or on, the window would go all the way down. i planned to get it fixed when suddenly one day it stopped doing it, and ive never gotten the problem since and its been over a month. so i dont know itcould always reset itsself

Hey I'm a noob here, but when I bought my g37 I got tints thrown in, when we spoke about how dark the tints were gonna be the salesperson told me a story about how they were having problems with the windows rolling down because the tints they put on were too dark causing some sensor to trigger the window rolling down.... Probably not your solution, but I thought it might help someone else with a similar issue.

did anyone figure out this problem? does it have anything to do with having a battery having issues?

My battery has CONTINUED to die, so I'm waiting to get my wheels to take it in and get a new battery from the dealer, but just recently I open my driver door and THE WINDOW GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN???? WTF??

its exactly the same as described in the first post....i had to jump the car. Could the windows have been reset somehow or something?

+1 to resetting the windows AND getting a new battery. Solved it when I had the same problem. There is a TSB for low battery causing erratic window function.
