For those who dislike the Bose, what are you listening to? What medium?

Sat sounds horrible. I don't think the sub works much at all when playing satellite.

Cd and my mp3 collection (320bit) on my thumbdrive both sound incredible.

Agree they should have linked it to the passenger seat like airbags on and off

Some stations on XM sound better than others. I drive with stage on whether someone is in the pass seat or not. My GF can't tell, lol

I had stage on for a long time so it seems weird with it off.

The G sounds way better than the mustang I had before, or my GF's civic... or my parent's Pilot.

I'm happy with it.

Hey folks, not sure I found the right forum, i just bought a G37S (2008) with the bose system and I hate it. I went by a car audio place and they said i have to replace all the speakers and put in a 4 channel Amp. This BOSE sounds horrible. Can someone recommend what i need to do to get some good quality sound. HOw can i get my Iphone to play and a few numbers to port over to the Nav Address book?

The first thing is how much you are willing to spend?
For the iPhone, if the car doesnt come with the 30 pin cable, you can get one at the dealer for less than 30

Wow... Didn't know so many people hated the bose system. My maxima has a pioneer head unit and two 12in woofers in the trunk yet I still love the sound system in my infiniti. It does sound horrible when listening to satellite radio but every other medium sounds great. i also amplify my mp3 songs using wavpad sound editor. Really makes a difference in sound quality.

Can you explain more how you amplify mp3 files thru that program.
I have a ipod, it sounds fine, I only have musics of higher than 256bps or 320bps but I don't think I get good sound out of it as much as I do from Harman Kardon in my BMW

Does anyone know the total wattage the Bose puts out? with 11 speakers I also agree the sound quality should be better.

basically he just increases the volume of the song in the application.

aside from amplifying the sound from the passangers side, i believe it decreases the drivers side, making the waves center at the driver and not the center of the car.

but for some reason to me it doesnt sound as good

The real issue is a matter of timings. The correct way to fix it is delay the left channel vs the right channel, so the sound will arrive at your left and right ear at the same time.

Sounds like Bose is just upping the output on the right side, which makes it louder but it might sound funny because its not correct.

I had an Alpine head unit with time delay built in, you actually had to measure distances to your ears from the center of the front woofers, then check a chart they had in the manual to determine the correct timings. It really did work though!

The timing would be "off" for the passenger, but it wasnt a volume boost so to them it just sounded like a car stereo normally does

The G stereo is under the hood. If I wanted one of the best sound systems, I would have stuck with the Acura ELS. The Bose is good enough to get by on and the ELS makes me happy when I have to get caught up on my mileage quota.

I've noticed that sometimes people complain about sound quality, and yet they listen to MP3 files. It makes no sense. XM sound is really bad and FM is not better. I have an ipod in my car loaded with Apple Lossless files. Full resolution files that have not been compressed. Granted, it's not the best sound, but it sounds pretty sweet. Also, I have the treble set in the middle and the bass about 3/4 for the most natural sound.
