Navigation voice guides with radio on

Is it just me,or should the radio auto mute when the navigation voice prompts
guide me on my route?

Looked for a previous thread, but couldn't find one.

Is this a glitch with the G or is there a software fix for this?

Thanks all

It does not mute the radio but it does decrease the volume of the radio.

Why would it mute? There's no need to...

Any current audio will decrease in volume when a voice prompt comes up, and you can adjust the volume of the prompt. Whenever the nav "speaks" just raise/lower the volume with the steering wheel or console volume ****

if you miss a nav prompt just hit the voice button and it will repeat. I also use it when I want to adjust volume of prompts and don't want to wait for the next prompt to adjust.

I mute mine. I'd rather she not interrupt the song I'm listening to. Plus she talks way too much. I don't need to know every 10 seconds that my turn is coming up....

Can the amount the radio volume decrease be changed or is it set?
I find it annoying when the radio and voice prompts overlap.

You CAN change the frequency of the prompts...you can make it very often or just once every so often.

Just make the prompt volume higher or lower and it will have the same effect ad changing the radio volume decrease

I'd like to share a little trick that helped me with the prompt volumn:

when we adjust the volume while the radio is on, the volume setting applies to the radio;
when we adjust the volume while the NAV prompt is on, the volume setting applies to the NAV prompt.
In another word, that one **** controls two volume settings.

To make sure I hear the NAV prompt, I have adjusted the NAV prompt louder than my radio. In addition, the G decreases the radio volume automatically when the NAV prompt plays. As a result, I never miss a single prompt.

hope it helps!
