**FYI** Iphone 4 tip

Just wondering if everyone here knows about this so thought I would post.

With the new Mobile iOS 4 (3Gs/4) you can multitask and run some apps in the background. So I tried streaming Pandora thru the ipod cable/dock in my G and sure enough it works!!! Who needs XM ? You can actually switch back to the Ipod and it will fade the audio from Pandora and resume play from the ipod portion of the phone!

Just thought I would share

I got it to work except I had to disconnect the iphone and start playing it again before ipod would play again. Probably something I am just missing. I think the sound quality was even better than XM but I only played around with it a few minutes.

I also have a Rush app that I have and figured out a week ago that it will also play through the ipod cable, too. Of course, you can only listen to Rush songs this way.

Just double click the Home button and pause your ipod if music is playing from ipod and then switch to Pandora and play from there and if double click again slide to the right to access your ipod controls and press play, Pandora will fade out and ipod resumes.
Pretty cool if you ask me.

Cool, thanks for the tip. Figured there was a step I was missing. This is a nice alternative to the 2010's bluetooth streaming that the 08's and 09's don't have.

I can stream music from my 3gs and my Iphone 4 in my 08, so it is not just the 2010's.

Use Slacker instead of Pandora. It's a million times better

I just think Slacker has a better library of music for one, but also if you are searching for a genre, I think Slacker picks better music that actually fits that genre of music.

If you search for a specific song, Slacker will play exactly what you search for, while Pandora just plays music "similar" to what you search for.

In the end they are both great free streaming music apps, I just like Slacker better

Stream Pandora to IPhone.

Broadcast Pandora from IPhone to G37 stereo via bluetooth audio receiver.

No cable/dock necessary.

With bluetooth?? If so, you're the only one.

+1 again. Been doing that in my G and Yukon for a while now. XM and their sh*tty reception can pound sand.

The difference between Slacker and Pandora is that you can plug Slacker into a PC and it will sync your tunes to the memory card. Saves on data usage and playing off the card maximizes battery life.

Better yet by the Pockettunes app for the iphone, you can listen to Howard Stern and all other Sirius channels if you have an online subscription (works for XM online subscription as well), won't need to buy XM w/Best of Sirius package for the car anymore, save you some bucks!!
