^ I don't know if you ever found an answer or if you care anymore....
I just let my 3 month trial expire. While I can't say I didn't enjoy having XM, I can say that for me it's not worth their asking price. I didnt have NFL and many NHL channels, which are what I would have preferred. Maybe thats optional and simply requires my intervention to tell them what I want. If they call me and offer it to me for $77 a year I would consider it. I can wait.

The XM traffic is pretty useless in Ontario and perhaps all Canada. The 401 corridor (and only in the GTA) is the only road I have ever received information from XM traffic. If you frequently travel to the U.S.A. then it may be of value.

At the end of my 3 month trial I got it for $5.09 per month for 12 months, with the traffic. Just be nice and have the time to wait.

HB, My free trial just ended last month and I was thinking about calling sometime this week or next to renew. Would you mind telling me what you did to get Sirius for $5.09 a month for 12 months? Did you wait a long time before renewing? Call a special number? Use a certain promo code? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No code, no long wait, just a cool girl on the other end who just kept looking and a 45 min call. I can't find any code on my info sheet.

folks...when your XM is about a week out from expiring, call and ask about renewing and tell them specifically you're going to cancel if you can't get the promo rate of $4/month for 5 months.

This is a special promo for 5 months at a time.

That's what I've been paying for over a year now.

The first person you talk to at XM will be a regular rep, when you say you're canceling, they kick you up a level and you get a rep with more clout.

They will probably give you that rate.

All they can say is no, and it's worth a try.

Ready for a great update?

Get a charge on my card for $190 from XM last week, call them up, go through three levels of people having shown them the deal I have in writing from them from 2 months ago ($5.09 a month for 12 months, with traffic). I asked them to read what my current agreement said, get told we are not going to honor what we agreed to.

No longer an XM user.

$190 for xm select and traffic isn't a bad deal. That's about what I paid. I can't blame them however for not giving both services away for $5/mo. The way they handled it was horrible from a customer server point of view.

The customer car rep, should not have been allowed to enter that deal in the system, it seems.

I just got XM Select with NavTraffic for $65/year. Just being friendly works as well.
