Cobra xrs970 inconspicuous install?
hey all,
so i found a pretty good deal on the cobra xrs970 and decided to buy it. this is my first time ever using a radar detector so im pretty excited! anyways, i absolutely dread the cigarette power cord.. it KILLS the sleek look of the g, or probably most cars.. haha. anyways, i looked on stealthcords's website and couldnt find one to fit my model, so i was wondering how i could build one. i know you can tap into the mirror to draw power, mine has the garage links and the power button along with the compass. i dont really mind the suction cups, but if it was possible to make a hard mount onto the mirror that would be even better
so if any of you know how to go about doing this, or have already done so please let me know! radar model again is cobra xrs970.
thanks guys!

There are 3 wires connected to the mirror. The middle one is ground, one is always on (homelink), one is on with ignition on (dimming mirror). If you don't care about the stock cord, just cut it and wire it to the mirror.
I ran mine to the fuse box because my 2 x 10" subs hit too hard. The damn thing keeps turning off when I'm driving.

Open the cigarette lighter plug to check the wire, or use a voltmeter. I think you better buy the Direct Wire (look on ebay, get the one that comes with the blade fuse tap) and tap it to the fuse box like this.
