LCD display almost died b/c of heat

So today getting into my '08 coupe after work at 330pm after the car was parked in the sun all day (with temperatures around 100 degrees here in Philly area) I started her up and the LCD info display (between the speedo and tach) was totally blank. Yes I checked to make sure the dimmer was on max. During the drive home the display would go from black to very dim to black again. I pulled into my garage and went out 3 hours later and all was normal again. I assume it was from the heat and no permanent damage was done. Has anyone else had this problem?

i also parked my G37 all day under the sun and i don't have that problem yet...

Now i'm worrry whether i should park under the sun or not because of the extreme heat..

Should we worry about that??

No. If a G survives in Puerto Rico heat it will thrive anywhere - that place is HOT! I agree that OP needs to go to the dealer to have it checked out.

My 2010 has been outside in the crazy weather but no issues with the little LCD screen. However, I did have problems with my iPhone connection right after starting up the car. Kept disconnecting and locking up - never happened before. Strange, perhaps due to the iPhone itself or maybe the heat (103 degrees!). Never thought I'd be wishing for some rain!

My G has been subjected to temps over 105 in the Dallas area with no problems other than burning my *** getting in after work! Seriously though, time to go to the dealer.

I'm a little bit north of the op (not too far north though) and mine sits outside all day every day at work and I haven't had any LCD issues. I'd go back to the dealer to take a look at it.

ive never had it happen but im not surprised it did. electronics do that in extreme heat from time to time. i wouldnt consider it a problem unless it happens repeatedly

Tinted windows and windshield sunshade will fix that problem. I got the custom sunshade from Infiniti dealership for $35. It helps a lot.

I hate my shift *** for that reason. They were handing out cell phone "socks" at Sweetwater Brewery a few weeks ago. I have no intention of using it with my cell phone, but I do put it on my shifter to save my hand!

that's probably not from the sun. i'd imagine that if there's a problem with the lcd in the tach because of the sun, other lcd screens, like your navi would also have issues. isolated issue. dealership run
