XM Categories - Am I missing something in the manual?

2008 G37s Coupe, Nav, Premium, Sport, Tech packages. Is there a way to scroll through the categories? I know you can hit the "Seek CAT" button to go to the first channel of the next category, but is there a way to see a scroll list of the categories and select one? I have searched the manual, but other than the "Seek CAT" button, I see no mention of categories anywhere else.

Thanks,
David

I've been looking for that feature since I bought the car last year, and haven't found it yet.

No. I really think there should be more to it, tbh. Like you said, you can use the seek-cat button to jump to the next category, but that isn't a huge help because sometimes not all channels in a category are grouped together.

It just seems like satellite radio has so much more capability available that is not being harnessed. Infiniti is not the only one guilty of this -- other cars I've driven that include XM/Sirius have the same problem. I'm thinking the radio receiver should be able to browse and search for songs, categories & stations. To see upcoming programming, and so forth. More like you can with digital cable set-top boxes.

I guess they don't want to provide too much to futz with while you're driving. But still there are better solutions I think. My "free" Sirius/XM iphone app does a better job with this in many cases (although has a limited selection of channels available).

I have a sirius stilleto in my BMW vert and had factory sirius in my old audi. In both cases, the system would show a group of five or so stations at a time on the display with what was playing on them - you didn't need to select the station to see what was on. It would be great if my preset screen would show the artist/song on each of the preset stations or if the station select screen would show the station in a list - showing the stations around it - I can never remember what the next station is.

Thanks guys, just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something simple. Overall I love this car, but it does seem like Infiniti left out several pretty simple features like this. My friends Kia with Sirius has this feature and it's nice to be able to scroll through the categories.
