Map update lowered to $99

Just received a promotional email from Infinti offering the 2010 map update for $99 ($30 less than normal). The offer is available through June 30th. Still not worth it?

Did the promo also say how you'll save gas with the update? I got a kick out of that in the last flyer I received.

LOL Totally not worth it. My 2004 Maxima with Nav was never updated, and I didn't get lost once... well, not lost due to any directions the car gave me.

I've heard recommendations to update it every 3 years. Not much that is relevant to anyone's area is likely to change in a single release.

After having Nav fail twice with all the new contruction in the past 3 years here I went for it.. $99 + $54 service. A little more then I pay for my garmin which is a lot nicer but alas not built in the car. Yea problem is with most updates they're still behind by at least a year so don't be shocked if that road or area added in the last year or even two years ago isn't on your newly updated map. At least Garmin lets you look at the map data to see what's updated and decided if you really need it.

Only thing that gets replaced is the map, nothing else is touched. Your stored POI are even maintained.

Haha, it uses 12% less fuel because they fixed certain glitches. I punched in directions to a golf course once, and about a block before the correct street, it told me to go right, then make a legal U-turn if possible, then right on the street I was already on.

I don't think I'll EVER cough up anything close to that for the map update. Most I would pay is like 50 bones and thats me feelin generous. lol
