Hidden amp install in the trunk for my new sub?
Just picked up a 4080 box with sub & amp, and I want to do a hidden install on the amp instead mounting it on the back of the seat. Did some searches for trunk mounting locations - but all I found was a really cool install with a full custom box replacing the spare tire, and then another one with both factory amps replaced on the left hand side of the trunk.
Looks like the only place to mount is in the right rear corner under the the plastic well for the spare tire. Pretty tight in there though - any suggestions? How big of an amp can I go with (dimensions - not pwr)

There is absolutely no room under the front seats, and under the plastic center part in the rear seat is very slim too. The rear deck doesn't have much room either...
The only stealth location that I've seen people on this forum use is under the plastic pieces to the right or left of the spare tire.
I believe lasskicker said he's pushing 2000w without issues. I'll try to find the thread...
EDIT: found it in this thread on page 12

Heres a pic of the trunk completely gutted.
On the left side is the bose amp, so thats out, that just leaves the right side. one problem youll run into is theres a bunch of "screws" welded to the floor sticking up so you wont be able to just mount it flat unless you make a wood floor with holes for the screws.
Also there isnt much room there at all, under the plastice maybe youll get 12"x6", just a guestimate.
Youre best bet really is to just mount it to the back of the seat.
