Navigation upgrade for 2009 G Sedans

I received a flyer in the mail asking if I wanted to upgrade my 2009 navigation system to the newest version. The cost is $99.00 plus dealer installation. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it?

I did the update and my home address is still not in the software, the road to my job is also not listed. So to me and the routes I travel the 100.00 and 55.00 for the dealer install wasn't worth it....

$55 dealer install? Don't you just put the dvd in and let it update? Man, what a rip-off.

The newer models (post 2008 maybe?) specify in one of the manuals somewhere that the upgrades now have to be done by the dealership upgrading via some direct computer hookup to the HD, likely through some proprietary wiring connection. The older ones had a dvd drive near the glovebox compartment.

The upgrade process is not as simple as it should have been. The dealer needs to use the console II and follow a specific procedure. Takes at least an hour.

Lol! The Nav destination feature doesn't have my town listed and I don't live in the boonies. Stupid pos! Other than that, no complaints but not likely to upgrade when the time comes based on what you guys are saying.
