Does the iPod Touch work without issues in the 2010 G37?

Most of the ipod threads are about the old connector, not the usb. I understand the iPod classic works fine, but want to confirm the Touch does too before I buy it. - does it turn off/on, recharge? - any problems with car not recognizing iPod?

My kids have latest gen iPod Touches and the car sees them but will not charge them. You need a $20 adapter to make it charge. Car only supports firewire charging, and newer iPod Touches only support USB charging.
But my 7th gen iPod Classis works great.

My first gen ipod touch charges and plays w/o any issues. The only thing is it sometimes looses usb connection (nav screen says check usb connection) which requires it to be unplugged and plugged back in.

I am having some issues with the 2nd gen itouch in my 2010 sedan. It will tell me to check the device and I have to turn the car off in order to reconnect the ipod. Going to the dealer Thursday for detailing so I'm going to see if they have seen this before.

No issues

I just purchased a 2010 G37x and I have a 2nd gen ipod touch that I use with it. I have no problems so far using my ipod. The device gets charged and stays connected at all times.

I do NOT have the Nav or Premium package, so I am not sure if that is why I am not having any issues or not.

Hi PK
Did you get the ipod cable with the car or did you have to use your own? I just got a g37x and there was no cable in.
Thanks

The 2010's don't come with a cable. You use your regular USB cable that comes with the iPod.
I too have a 2nd gen iPod touch. It works fine most of the time. Occasionally I get the message to "check your iPod" requiring me to either disconnect / reconnect the iPod or sometimes turn the car off and back on to re-establish the connection.

I have a 3rd Generation Touch and a new 2010 G37 Journey with Pr ium package/no nav.

The touch works perfectly. This is the first car I've ever had that doesn't have to use the aux port to use my iPod. The interface works well and is quite intuitive.

Now if I could just get my Android phone to work well with the phone. It dials okay, but until Sprint updates to 2.1, the bluetooth won't allow the contacts to sync with the car's address book.

I'm having the same issue with a 2nd and 3rd gen classic. Next time I'm at the dealer I'm gonna bitch about this and my trunk not closing properly unless I give it a good slam. Lol!
