Stereo Upgrade: Keeping the factory head unit
I have spent several hours searching here and other sites. It looks as though no one has replaced the entire Blows system while keeping the head unit in. I have done a few stereo installs on my own cars without issue, but I am not expert.
I want to change out all the speakers, replace the 10's up front with smaller speakers (modified housing required), add 2 10's in the back. and I want to power all the speakers with seperate aftermarket amps.
Is there no way to do this? Or is it too much hasle so no one has attempted?
I truly hate the stock system and need to put my plan into action.
How can it be done!?!
I just need an analog signal and remote, correct? If so, where are they? I am not too worried about fade and balance as I should be able to adjust those from the amps.
Anything else I am not thinking of?
