Voice volume for GPS?

There is something that I don't understand as far as using the GPS.
When the voice commands come on, I can hardly hear them over the music box song that is playing.
Does that mean that I have to turn the music down real low, in order to hear the GPs commands?
I would have thought that when the Gps voice came on it would automatically turn off or lower the music, so you could hear the command.
Is there an adjustment I can make to do this?

It does automatically lower the volume of the music. Also you can turn up the volume of the voice.

All this info and more is in your Owners Manual. Give it a quick browse.

When the Navigation voice is speaking increase the volume - it should typically be about 1/2 of the scale. The music volume will automatically be reduced during NAV audio.

I've run into the same thing. When using the music box, and the volume is loud, the nav guidance is not loud enough even if you boost the volume on it alot. It seems that the music box volume doesn't really lower that much.

If you are using the navigation and need to hear information about your route, why not consider maybe turning the music down to a moderate volume so you can hear the nav voice commands maybe? Just a thought...

The music was at a moderate volume, but the GPS voice commands were lower yet.
I started reading the Nav manual. It is long and just about put me to sleep by the first few pages.

If the music is at a moderate volume, then simply turn up the voice volume on the GPS commands. There's a button that says voice. Or you can simply wait till she's speaking and increase the volume.

Or go into the Audio under Settings. Just raise the Guidance volume there.
