If I remember correctly, people were getting $75ish/year deals. May need to do some searching on the forum.

Yeah, they offered me $75 for one year but soon as I said I wanted to get NavTraffic too it shot up to full price. They said they can't bundle NavTraffic with any promotions. I've tried calling several times but a soon as I mention I want to add on NavTraffic they say I'll have to pay full price.

They have really gone crazy with their rates. Back in '07 I bought 3 years for a little over $300 and since transfered the service to my G37. My subscription is about to end in May and I'm not so sure that I want to renew. I saw their 3 year plan is now about $400 or so from a mailer XM sent me.

My friend was telling that you can get a life time membership for $399.99 and it's transferable to.

FYI, i called to cancel and they offererd me the $77 dollar deal, then they offered me 1 free month, then they offered me 3 free months: which I took but will still cancel after that.
XM Traffic is absolutely worthless.
Being able to listen to Pandora via my iPhone killed XM for me.

Most of the time I would agree but I have to drive downtown a couple of times a week and that's when it's useful.
I'm in Toronto and XM Navtraffic only give traffic flow on 2 roads and incident updates on 10 roads. However, if you use maps.bing.com they also get their traffic updates through NAVTEQ like XM does and yet they give traffic flow on all the major routes and they have incident reports on almost every street. As well it's updated a lot faster than it is via XM NavTraffic.
I tried calling around to XM Radio but no one could explain to me why this free service offered by Bing was a lot better then what I was paying $10 a month for.

The price is negotiable, call them up and say you don’t really want it. They will ask you what would make you want to keep XM. Tell them if you could pay 10 dollars a month and you would keep it. They will work with you on price. NEVER PAY FULL PRICE FOR SATELITE RADIO.
