I like the idea of the music box but can hear a serious drop in audio quality IMO when listening back to ripped tracks off the built in HDD. Great idea but I just wish you had more control over the rip quality. I'd take higher quality over quantity any day if we had the ability to change the rip rate settings.

My old iPod nano just lives in my center console/arm rest plugged into the iPod jack and I can listen to my plethora of songs that way, all ripped @ 256kbps with vbs. I can hear a large difference in sound quality IMO. Plus the iPods EQ settings help to get more low end (clean and not distorted surprisingly) out of the under powered Bose system to where it sounds good enough to me to not have to add a dedicated 4080 style woofer in the trunk. Although a sub in the trunk is indeed on my list of things to do in the future.

I found that it took about half the actual playing time to transfer the CD to the music box, and yes it is a bit tedious. What really sucks is that if you do not have Nav the storage
capacity is limited to about 15 CDs .

I have an 09 coupe and was "all about" the music box feature. Loaded 5 or 6 CD's on it and realized it was just too time consuming to deal with. Copied most of my music library to a 32gb CF drive and its pure music bliss...

On a side note, Since the 09 lacks Bluetooth audio, I rigged up a BT receiver to the Aux ports and can stream Pandora, etc to my stereo via my phone. An added bonus for less than $20.00. Only problem is I can't control the BT music with my steering wheel controls.

regarding the CF, my understanding is that you cannot create playlists? or would it be as simple as placing the songs from your playlist in a certain folder, and then playing them from just that folder (or even shuffle)?
