2010 G37 Sedan No Nav - Play Video

Is there a way to play video on the screen in the 2010 G37 Sedan without Nav? I tried hooking up my Iphone with the cable but it won't play video with the car in park and the parking brake on. There are not any RCA jacks on my car. There are places in the console where the jacks would be but it looks like they didn't put them on the 2010s.

Thanks in advance.

If the 2010 has a similar layout as the 2009 sedan, then the RCA inputs should be in the armrest console thing, where you plug in the Ipod cables next to where you plug in the cable. At least, that's where my inputs are located.

2010 is different

In the 2010 there is a usb port and cigarette lighter style power port and that is all. I have nav and bose. The USB port is still being investigated but I think you have to have movies converted into a .divx file format. When poking around at the options I found an option for something related to divx, I forget now. But you can put videos on a usb stick or external hard drive, format it to fat32, and keep it under 60 gigs. Then it should give you the option when you plug it in and access it of what you want to do. Im going to experiment more later, picking her up today....

I loaded some movies onto a USB drive and tried to play it on my non-nav 2010, but it doesn't recognize the movie files. Any workarounds to this?

movies can be played off the USB (handbrake on).....but need to be in a specific format (do a search to find the information)

I dont know why it doesnt work from the iPod.

the RCA ports were removed for 2010 models....which means it is NOT possible to put a PS2 or any other media player.

Hey carz,

You are referring to the info on the following links:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-v...s-via-usb.html

https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-v...vid-files.html

https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-v...or-2011-a.html

I've already tried the 'specific format' but it doesn't work. Can you confirm that if works for a 2010 NON-NAV G?

Regards,
Tony

I've been trying to find out too. Hope I'm wrong, but I believe the non-nav model doesn't play video of any sort. No RCA jack on the non-nav model is the one thing I hate in the newer models - you can't even use any non-iPhone smartphones ( Android works hit and miss, Windows Phone 7 is SOL...).
