I also had the Scosche passport charger. It worked for several months. But is quite finicky and does not hold the ipod to cord very stable. and the vibration of the car, etc eventually killed it. It worked great for a while then stopped charging. IF you can keep it absolutely still with no vibrations, and not disconnect and reconnect the ipod a billion times, then it should last. But for the average user, it will eventually crap out.

So to fix the problem I purchased a 120gb ipod video (old generation) and it charges and works just fine. SO that is what I use in my 2008 G37S with no problems.
