Cell Phone Mount

Here's an alternative. It is on the pricey side, but the fit and finish is beautiful. The company is KUDA USA, INC. - KUDA® car custom OEM leather mounts for mobile electronics and they make leather cell phone mount consoles for many makes/models and in matching colored leather. They are easy to install and remove and if you install an active cell phone holder/car dock, the wiring can easily be hidden in the mount. I used this in two past cars and was very happy...looked nearly OEM. Haven't purchased yet for new g37, but am considering.

Check out this mount:
it goes into the cd player. Doesn't cause any damage. Easy to insert and remove. Sturdy, and perfectly placed. I don't use the cd player so its perfect for this.

Thinking of getting the Proclip. Although I like that the Kuda is leather wrapped, I don't like that it requires dismantling the dash clips to install - my old car was a rattlecan, so I'm hoping to avoid anything that could create new rattles in the new ride!!!

i also have the Kenu that i used in my previous car. i prefer to have it on the vent to the right of the steering wheel so its in the line of sight of the stock screen as well. it definitely does not feel secure at all. i wouldn't prefer it on the left side like you have it unfortunately.

i use the iOttie One Touch - the suction cup is made of silicone "grippy" material, and the suction is strong. it will grip to textured dashboards and even slight curves (as long as the dash isn't slathered in greasy protectant). i had it mounted to the *side* of the instrument pod of my last car and it didn't budge.
i don't have it mounted all the time because i don't like clutter - just for when i need Nav from my phone when i don't trust the maps in my 2013 - map data is probably from 2011 or so.
i attach it right on top of the instrument pod at eye level, because down lower is too distracting/dangerous.
