Back in the 90s I had a gooseneck CD player mount bolted to the passenger front left floor bolt. Thought of doing the same as pictures above but not on the drivers side. But I am digging the Proclip solution and I am happy to spend 60 to get my phone off the airvents that it has been attached to in Every car sense the year 2004

I have it. My only criticism is the felt on one side keeps falling out.

Has anyone managed to mount a phone so it's positioned to the upper right of the steering wheel? I just ordered the bluetooth module for my V-1, and that seems like the best place for the phone to be positioned so it's visible without needing to take my eyes off the road.

I just don't see an easy way to actually mount it there...

Do you have any issues with the radio controls or AC controls?

Thought i'd share what I ended up doing. So I wanted a cell phone mount, specifically a magnetic one (one where I can put a metal plate between my phone and the phone case) with a magnetic base so that way I don't have to use a phone specific cradle. I wanted the pro clip at first but it cost way too much ($75 for the set) So instead, I got a CD mount magnetic phone holder from amazon paid under $30 for it....

see link below

While it did it's job, it was still a bit floppy on our cd tray and got tired of it blocking the analog clock (yea i know, stupid reason but whatever lol)

I repurposed it to function similar to how the the proclip one was like. basically i wedged the mount between the trimmings and tightened the expander screw. kept it there for a week, took it off, no damage to the trimming and its at a position im happy with...

Kenu Airframe

This is what I use for my Sony Xperia Z1s...
The only negative is that it takes up an air vent.

Thanks. I wanted to go with Proclips, but I wanted the mount on the left. They didn't have a left mount for my model. The right would get in the way of the passenger.
This setup works for me.

Proclips offers a left mount next to the shifter as well. But my right of the stereo mount has yet to interfere with my passenger. Just saying

Here's an alternative. It is on the pricey side, but the fit and finish is beautiful. The company is www.KudaUSA.com and they make leather cell phone mount consoles for many makes/models and in matching colored leather. They are easy to install and remove and if you install an active cell phone holder/car dock, the wiring can easily be hidden in the mount. I used this in two past cars and was very happy...looked nearly OEM. Haven't purchased yet for new g37, but am considering.

I contacted Proclips about the left side mount and they told me that it didn't work for my model. I sent pics to confirm. The console is shaped differently. There is chrome with of a curve to it. Mine is like the bottom pic. The left side clip only works for the top pic.

I tried the pro clip mount shown above for the coupe and it was a terrible fit. They tried to make me a new one but it still did not fit right and would not hold. Ended up getting a full refund. Great customer service though.
