I am using a 5th gen nano and had nothing but problems....
When I plug it in I get the infiniti logo (on nano screen) and it selects a song
When I go to play it says "Check Ipod or USB connection", yet it still shows to be connected on the nano screen.
This has happened since I tested ripping something to the music box, I went and deleted all songs on the music box (just one comedy cd from a long drive).
Anyone have this issue or solution?

For what it's worth. The 7th Gen iPod Classic is like $220.00 at Costco. 160 gigs. Works flawlessly in my 09 with Nav. I just leave it there. I tested so many iPod combinations trying to get one that would *always* shut down with the car... Some did, some did sometimes, %#^$%!. But, the 7th Gen iPod worked every time and has more space than most anyone would need in a car unit. I'm thinking of storing it somewhere in the center console permanetly and out of sight. Hmmm.. Maybe someone in the forum already has DIY for that?

Okay if any of you have issue with the "Check ipod/usb connection" I just plugged my ipod into my computer and restored it to factory settings and it is back working.
Thats my recommendation

Sorry to revive this thread again.
As I posted earlier, I had the 5th Gen ipod classic (30 gig) which charged and played well but did not turn off with the car. That broke recently.
I've seen much confirmation that the latest iPod classic model, which is 160GB and is the 7th generation works perfectly; it does all 3 things.
One more question:
Can anyone confirm whether the 6th generation iPod classic sleeps or shuts off with the car?
The 6th generation is black or silver and comes in 80 or 120GB. It was manufactured between 2007-2009. There were no other iPod classic models with 120GB, but there was also a 5th gen with 80GB, which I definitely don't want. One way to tell the difference is the 5th gen was sold as the iPod video, and did not have the "Cover flow" feature.
So if you have a 120 or 80 GB iPod classic that does album cover flow, let me know if it works correctly with the G.
Thanks.
Oh, btw this is a 2009 G, so it doesn't have the USB, just the ipod connector cable.

With my iPod touch 2gen and the oem cable in my 09 g37 I get playback, no charge. Bought the scosche adapter, still get playback but still no charge. I also here people talking about seeing an infiniti logo on the iPod screen when connected? I don't see that at all on my touch. I have nice menu control through the head unit, and playback is fine. I wonder what effect all the firmware updates have on all of this, but the lack of charging is still odd to me.
