JL makes the 13w6v2 and 13w7 which are 13.5" drivers. Hit very hard, nice deep clean sound.

You can do a 13w5 which is a shallow sub. See here https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-v...o-install.html but a 13W6 will take a lot of work, which will mean a loss of spare. You are probably better off with two tens.

Yeah just doing rough measurments tonight that seemed to be the case, the only place i could see it fitting is in the back seat area which i am not willing to do. I may see what i can do with a 12" driver because i have never really cared for the pop of a 10 i prefer the deeper tones of the larger drivers. My one installer said a 12w7 could fit but they quoted me 3k for the install. The 13w5 sounds horrible imo. Its a shame it carries the JL name.

I believe the best you can do is two 12W6v2's on in each corner, but they have to be angled just right.

I just added put in an IDMax 10 into my 4080 stealth box. I still have my trunk and it pounds, while sounding great.

If i were going to go with a 10 the IDMax is the sub i would use. They are the best sounding 10 to me.

What is the point? Just beacuase it is bigger does not make it any better or hit harder. Are you doing it purely for looks?

I know for a fact that a DD 8 inch sub will hit harder than a JL 12w6.

Im not really looking for loud, a larger driver will have the ability to hit lower notes, it will also sound murkier whereas a smaller driver will have more pop to it. Basically an 8" driver is the highs of the low end of the spectrum of sound.

I assume you have the coupe and one of the things you give up with the coupe is space. Even if you fit a 13W6 in there the loss of space for a few Hz is not worth it. If it is going to be a show car that's one thing, but if not, then don't spend a whole lot just so you can get a 13W6 in there. Try two tens first with the Zenclosure box and if that's not enough then you can have someone custom make you boxes for 2 12's.

Yeah im leaning that way, the nice thing is im very good with my hands and enjoy building things so i would have no problem making my own box. But your absolutely right it gets to a point where its just not worth justifying the time and money to get very little.

If I could maybe get a passenger side stealth I would maybe get another IDMAX10 and be done with it. But I am not jonesing for much more. I came from an Adire 15" Brahma with 1,200 watts on it, a couple of cars ago....now down to a single ten. Now that's sonic withdrawal.
