police radar scanners?

Speeding tickets are mostly a joke. They are given for revenue collection, not for safety. With todays financial crisis, they are out even more looking for more revenue.
In many cases the speed limits are lower than they should be to make it even easier for them to be given. If they really wanted to just slow down traffic they would drive the roads at the speed limit or sit where visible, not hide behind a bend, hill or some such.

You'll like it. Remember you'll still need to pay a lot of attention to avoid another ticket.

Check out radardetector.net and guysoflidar.com for tests of the detectors.
Also, on the radardetector.net site, find your state and town and look up your local laws and find out what types of radar and laser your town uses.
Once you know that and your pricerange, you should be able to decide what detector is best for you. There is no "best" detector which fits everyones needs.

Kind of on the same subject. I have a 9500ix. I love it. I use the suction cups and mount it to the right of center of the dash on the windshield, semi low. The thing I hate is the back of it touches the windshield and it rattles on the glass. Drives me nuts. Anyone have a better mounting spot, bracket, idea. I put some foam on it to stop the rattle but with the heat it pulls off and doesn't work too well. Any thoughts would be great.

Owned a V1 for 7-8 months and it's paid for itself 3x. It catches instant on and laser with no problems. Heck it's catching radar so far away that I almost wonder if it's false until I crest the hill 2 miles away and there's the cop.
Best advice though, don't speed, and if your going to speed, don't rely on the detector to save your butt. The detector is only there to detect the radar. If you fly by a cop doing 85mph he's gonna know it whether or not your radar detector went off. So use your brain. It's your best weapon.

P.S. No making fun of the two little ball references
