LCD temp went crazy

So tonight on the way home from work it was about 80 outside, cloudy skies. The LCD temp reading in my car kept climbing up and up. Eventually getting up to 99 degrees! Then all of a sudden it dropped quickly down to 84 by the time I got home. Where is the temp read from? Anyone else see this?

never seen it, but i think the temp sensor is in the lower grill on the front bumper....

actually, i've read on the honda accord forum where something like this happened before...ended up the sensor fell off and was just hanging (and touching) his AC condensor....and it was a hot summer day, so the AC was running and therefore giving the sensor really crazy readings.....but the reading varied every 5 minutes....
