Navigation Updates Now Available

NAVTEQ has just released map updates for the navigation system. Version 8.2 release, dated January 2009. The price is $190.00. You purchase a code and then take to the dealer for install. I will probably update since my current map version is 06-07.

190 bucks??? thats the biggest rip off ever...

just find a way to render your hard drive broken and then go get a new one preloaded with current map data. FREE

let us know how it goes.

I'm one of the few chosen ones who have ALL the original Nav voice commands. If this update kills them, then I'll have a delima on my hands...

nav update shouldnt kill the voice activation...they should just update the map data

although they may just image these drives when they come in for updates. (likely)

In this case, your voice commands would go bye bye...that would suck

^good point. Me too with original full voice command. Don't think the world has changed much in 2 years; I think I can find my way around town without dropping $190....

If you don't have 07-08 an update should be free in my opinion. I would talk to your dealer about that and contact Infiniti consumer affairs.

Unfortunately that doesn't work. I had the whole radio/HDD replaced due to the radio settings changing after I shut off the car. I was hoping to get the radio fixed and the current 07-08 map data. I got neither. Still have the 06-07 map version and my radio still sometimes won't come back to the same screen after I shut off the car.

hmmm....well, I guess it's not for sure then. I know I heard another member say they got their HD replaced, and had the 08-09 map version afterwards...can someone else verify this?

+1! I'm scared to ever take my car in for any electronic issues because I'm afraid they'll somehow lose my voice commands!!

Navi update.

I have the code and the dealer is going to install for free tomorrow. Will let everyone know how it goes.

I noticed the change on the website to 08-09 instead of 8.2.

What version do people with the 2009 G37 have.

Very Interested to see the change in the navigation, and the experience at the dealer!
