Wink Get XM radio for life time: $399.0

Hi everyone,
I call XM radio and try $77 a year but they said I need a promotion code for the renew. $77/yr is only good for one time.
So I bought $399 plus 6% tax for lifetime.

Not a bad deal, but that's a hunk of change to dish out all at once.

Well, I hope you never get rid of your car, that deal is only good for the car itself. I bought a Jeep rubicon this summer with Sirius for life from the previous owner. He went through hell trying to switch it over and they said nope, only for that radio ID. So my jeep has lifetime sirius which is cool cuz it's a camping rig...

I did I ask them about if I sell this car and switch it to new car. They said they will do it for me.... I might call them again and make sure this will be OK. This is the only good choice I can do. Other plans are:
$142.45/1yr
$245.00/2yrs
$349.00/3yrs

What do you gus think I should do?

Personally I have no XM in three cars(including the G) that have it. For me, the format changed and their constant calling my house and sending me crap was the final straw. I canceled out of the last subscription on my wife's car last month. No more XM for me and no way would I hand over $350 to bail them out of their own financial mess. Their stock is at .14....

I enjoy the XM radio the same way I enjoy cable on TV. I drive to work about 10 minutes, if I listen to FM, all I hear is commercial for 5 minutes. Also, with the long drive out of state I still have my favorite channels....
if XM is out business sooner ... I'll cry....

I do 1 year at a time. I have both Sirius and XM, like Sirius better but everything I hear about satellite radio doesn't give me the impression it's going to be around for a lifetime. When Howard Stern retires in 2 years what will their stock be worth then? .01? They overpaid too many non-radio personalties and now that the economy sucks things like XM and Sirius are the first thing to get cancelled by the average person.

I say you just buy an ipod! lol... I've thought long and hard about XM/Sirius... but still too shy about pulling the trigger...

sorry to thread jack.. but aren't we supposed to get a 3 month trial with our cars?? For some reason I am only getting Channels 0 and 1. (I bought the car in November.. never had any XM channels)

I bought my car in November, 07(G37S, red color, nav). I had 3 months trial, 1 year discount $77. This is the new contract with XM. I have 500 songs in the Music box in the car, but I still like to have XM.
Ask you dealer if your car doesn't have 3 months XM trial.

Yes, all cars have this I believe. Call your dealer and they can activate it, or you can go to XM's website and enter your vehicle code to get the three month trial. Your radio code can be obtained through channel 0.
