Escort 9500ix question
For those of you with the 9500. I just got one and am trying to figure out the blocking/storing thing. I went and drove around the mall by my house last night. There are several sources there that I drove by at least 3 times, but never got the message that it was storing the signal. So, is there a certain distance you have to get away from where it knows the signal was, or just outside of where the signal is, ie, after the detector stops showing that there is a signal?
I put it into frequency mode so I could see what I was driving past and somehow even though I'd keep driving past the same spot, sometimes it would show 24.187 and other times 24.152 or something close to that.
Ideas?

I think the frequency detection is affected/skewed by stuff at times.
Also, I think it wants to see that same source there some time apart -- for example, if there's a cop at a corner near your house and you drive by him 5 times, you want to be alerted all five times... but if you drive by it for the next three days and it's always there, the unit starts to doubt that that cop is using the same radar unit for three days in a row and decides to ignore it.
Make sense? I've noticed it will sometimes take 3-7 times before it will auto-ignore something -- I've done a manual ignore when I'm sure in those cases.

To block a signal, I know you have to hit the mute button at least 2 times. The first time is to mute the alarm, the second time is to store the location of the signal and I think one more time to save the location in memory. I have one but it's has been awhile since I've block a signal.
